The Tech Committee

The Tech Committee will meet on Thursday, March 18 at 7:00 pm

A Tech Committee has been meeting to discuss audio and video upgrades for the sanctuary. A major component of our audio system is trying to fail and after nearly 10 years other upgrades are desirable. Additionally there has been an increasing desire for the use of video resources as teaching aids and worship supplements. We are currently discussing relocating and upgrading the sound equipment as well as introducing video components. Serving on the committee are: Jack Matthews, Steve Harris, Marty Harris, Dave Gillespie, Wendy Hayward, Jane Hartman, Stacy Chastain, Rev. Becky Sundquist and Rev. Rick Irwin ex-officio.

If you have any questions or input to offer, please contact Rev. Rick.

2010 Mission Trip

Hiram Farm Living and Learning Community is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to grow, learn, work, and live in a setting focused on respect and support for individuals and the environment.  Connected to Hiram Christian Church and Hiram College (both organizations affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)), volunteers are needed to assist in the building and maintenance needs of this growing ministry.  The 2010 work crew will be headed to Northeast Ohio on June 6th to offer our support and skills in the many needs this growing ministry has.  If you are interested, please contact Becky Sundquist for information and sign-up.  Come find our all the ways you can help change the world!

Be A Prayer Partner

One special way you can be involved with this year’s mission trip to Hiram Farm is by becoming a prayer partner.  You can be as creative and crafty as you like.  You can simply write a prayer each day for your mission crew member.  You can include little treats if you’d like.  You can make it funny or serious or both.  It can be completely anonymous or not at all.  You can give clues and reveal who you are at the end of the week.  Our friends at Parkway introduced us to this idea and we discovered that it adds a very meaningful experience to the work week.  If you would like to be a Prayer Partner to one of this year’s Work Crew members, please see Becky for partner sign up and further details.

Mission to Haiti

Are you interested in going to Haiti to help them rebuild?  Rev. Becky is gathering a group of names of folks who are interested in traveling to Haiti this fall (October or November) to do some work following the devastating earthquake that destroyed this country.  She is planning for work to be one week to 10 days.  If you are interested, please see Rev. Becky Sundquist.
